In the August 24, 2011 issue of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Bulletin (Vol. 45, No. 35), CBP published two notices that propose to revoke three rulings regarding the tariff classification of a trunk/cab organizer and a self-propelled utility vehicle.

The International Trade Commission has issued a notice on the scheduling of an expedited review to determine whether revocation of the antidumping duty order on gray portland cement and cement clinker from Japan would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury within a reasonably foreseeable time. Comments on what determination the ITC should reach in the review are due by October 3, 2011.

On August 10, 2011, the European Commission welcomed the U.S.' decision to revoke duties imposed on stainless steel sheet and strip in coils from Germany and Italy. Since 1999, the U.S. has imposed antidumping (AD) duties on Stainless Steel Sheet and Strip in Coils from Germany and Italy as well as other countries at 13.48% and 11.23% of the U.S. import price. On August 10, the U.S. published an order in the Federal Register that the AD duties against Italy and Germany will be revoked from July 25, 2010. The Commission states that lifting the duty against European exports would resolve one of the European Union’s long standing trade irritants with the U.S.
