CBP also published a notice on its withdrawal of a revocation and modification of two rulings on the classification of a surgical light system.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection has announced that the 2012 annual user fee of $138 for each customs broker permit and national permit held by an individual, partnership, association, or corporation is due by January 20, 2012.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a CSMS message detailing the arrival "process steps and conditions" of ACE M1 (e-Manifest: Ocean and Rail) for ocean carriers using both ACE M1 and the legacy Automated Manifest System (AMS). This new functionality deployed on December 14, 2011.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection has posted a memorandum announcing that the 2012 TRQ for tuna and skipjack, in airtight containers, not in oil, in containers, weighing with their contents not over 7 kg each, which opened on January 3, 2012, exceeded the preliminary TRQ limit at the opening. All entries presented at the over-quota (high) rate since the opening have been charged and may be released. Entries should continue to be submitted at the over-quota rate.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a QBT to announce the opening of the third, fourth and fifth Specialty Sugar tranches on January 11, April 11, and July 11, 2012 respectively, at 12 noon eastern time or its equivalent in other time zones. The quantity for each of these three tranches is 19,051,000 kilograms (kg).

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued notices on the 2012 tariff rate quotas (TRQs) for agricultural products described in HTS Chapter 99, Subchapter VIII, U.S. Notes 3 through 7. These TRQs opened on January 3, 2012 with the following in-quota (low-duty) quantity limits:
David Genovese, the Director of Trade Modernization and ACE Coordination in the ACE Business Office of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, passed away at age 44 on December 27, 2011. He is survived by his wife and two children, ages 16 and 13. The David Genovese Memorial Fund, Wells Fargo Bank c/o Branch Manager, 131 Garrisonville Road, Stafford, VA, 22554 has been created to benefit his children, in lieu of flowers.
