CBP Announces Opening of 3rd Specialty Sugar Tranche on Jan 11, Two More to Follow

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a QBT to announce the opening of the third, fourth and fifth Specialty Sugar tranches on January 11, April 11, and July 11, 2012 respectively, at 12 noon eastern time or its equivalent in other time zones. The quantity for each of these three tranches is 19,051,000 kilograms (kg).

CBP states that these three tranches are provided for in HTS Chapter 17, Additional U.S. Note 5, and are reserved for organic and other specialty sugar not currently produced commercially in the U.S. or reasonably available from domestic sources.
