The Commerce Department will not set new exemptions for off-grid panels requested by Maodi Solar from antidumping and countervailing duties on crystalline photovoltaic solar products from China (A-570-010/C-570-011), it said in a notice released June 7 ending a changed circumstances review on the proposed exemptions. Maodi told Commerce it “no longer wishes to pursue this action, and hereby withdraws its request for a finding of changed circumstances and partial revocation.” The agency had in September 2020 announced its intent to create the exemptions, which would have covered off-grid solar panels with and without glass covers that met certain requirements (see 2009020021).

The Commerce Department is giving advance notice that in automatic five-year sunset reviews next month it will consider revoking the antidumping duty orders on carbon steel butt-weld pipe fittings from Brazil (A-351-602), China (A-570-814), Japan (A-588-602), Taiwan (A-583-605) and Thailand (A-549-807); hydrofluorocarbon blends and components from China (A-570-028); porcelain-on-steel cooking ware from China (A-570-506); and stainless steel wire rod from Japan (A-588-843), South Korea (A-580-829) and Taiwan (A-583-828). These orders will be revoked unless Commerce finds that revocation would lead to dumping and the International Trade Commission finds that revocation would result in injury to U.S. industry, Commerce said in a notice released published June 1.
