In U.S. Customs and Border Protection's January 2012 Trade Account Owner (TAO) Update, CBP stated that the M1 pilot (e-Manifest: Rail and Sea) was currently underway, with the first Automated Broker Interface (ABI) filer to join the pilot during the week of January 30th. In early January 2012, U.S. Customs and Border Protection issued instructions for the ten weekly Special Import Quota announcements for Upland Cotton that were issued by the USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation. CBP also listed the dates and quantities for each of the ten. CBP has now added weekly Special Quotas 22 and 23 to its list. CBP's January 2012 instructions, with the two new quotas added, are summarized below. (Note that ITT has corrected the month "typos" in the "buy date" column.)
U.S. Customs and Border Protection states that it is aware of a temporary disconnect between an ABI entry’s paperless release and its associated AMS bill that occurred 00:00 to 01:00 EST on the mornings of January 19th, 25th, 26th, and 27th. In the first hour on those days, entries which received a Paperless Release selectivity result transmission (RR) did not trigger a release posting in AMS (e.g., a ‘1C’ posting). CBP has manually posted the 1C release for the shipments. The carrier and terminal operators will see the 1C posted from the HQ port code (9900).
