CBP has also posted an updated CF 1401 (Record of Vessel in Foreign Trade Clearances) - an electronic query report for CF 1401 of the VMS, in accordance with 19 CFR 4.95, organized by clearances.
CBP has posted a summary of changes to the Automated Export System Trade Interface Requirements (AESTIR) that is effective July 14, 2010. Appendix A - Commodity Filing Response Messages - has been revised.

CBP officers at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry intercepted more than 2,000 pounds of marijuana on June 30, 2010 at Bridge II. The seizure took place at the commercial import lot when a CBP officer referred a 1997 Freightliner tractor - pulling a flatbed trailer, manifesting a shipment of ceramic bricks - for secondary examination. CBP officers at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry discovered nearly 2,100 packages of marijuana hidden inside individual ceramic bricks.

CBP has issued its weekly tariff rate quota and tariff preference level commodity report as of July 6, 2010. This report includes TRQs on various products such as beef, sugar, dairy products, peanuts, cotton, cocoa products, and tobacco; and certain BFTA, DR-CAFTA, Israel FTA, JFTA, MFTA, OFTA, SFTA, UAFTA (AFTA) and UCFTA (Chile FTA) non-textile TRQs; etc. Each report also includes the AGOA, ATPDEA, BFTA, DR-CAFTA, CBTPA, Haitian HOPE, MFTA, NAFTA, OFTA, SFTA, and UCFTA TPLs and TRQs for qualifying textile articles and/or other articles; the TRQs on worsted wool fabrics; etc.
CBP has issued a CSMS message announcing recent changes to the 2010 Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HS Update No. 1003). This update contains 303 ABI records and 66 harmonized tariff records.
CBP has issued a Unified Business Resumption Messaging message providing an update on the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. According to CBP, Pensacola Pass will be closed to vessel traffic during flood tide. In addition, navigation will be restricted in Biloxi Bay near the southeastern portion of Deer Island and will be closed during flood tide and open during ebb. All other waterways are currently open with no restrictions
CBP officers at the Otay Mesa, CA cargo export facility seized almost 6,000 counterfeit handheld “Tetris” video games on June 24, 2010. CBP officers processing trucks exporting goods out of the U.S. into Mexico had pulled aside two shipments labeled as “hand-held brick games.” Officers then offloaded the cargo and presented a sample of the toys to a CBP import specialist who quickly determined that the games violated the Tetris copyright.
