US Seizes Another Tanker Suspected of Moving Sanctioned Oil
The U.S. on Dec. 20 seized an oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela that was "suspected of carrying oil subject to U.S. sanctions," DHS said in a social media post. Secretary Kristi Noem said the U.S. "will continue to pursue the illicit movement of sanctioned oil that is used to fund narco terrorism in the region."

Pentagon Secretary Pete Hegseth said the U.S. is imposing a "blockade" against "sanctioned oil tankers departing from, or bound for, Venezuela," which "will remain in full force until [Nicolas] Maduro’s criminal enterprise returns every stolen American asset."
The tanker, the second sized by the U.S. this month (see 2512160043), is "not on any sanctions list maintained by the U.S., the European Union, the U.K. or the UN," ABC News reported, citing data firm Kpler.
