WTO Tech Transfer Working Group Discusses WTO-Wide Work in Run-Up to MC14
Members of the WTO's Working Group on Trade and Transfer of Technology during their Nov. 21 meeting discussed potential areas of focus on technology transfer across various WTO bodies in the run-up to the 14th Ministerial Conference, the WTO said. MC14 is currently scheduled for March 2026.

During the meeting, chairs of the Council for Trade-related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS), the Committee on Trade and Environment and the Committee on Agriculture discussed the work in their respective bodies. The working group members said the updates provided an "overview of how technology-transfer issues are evolving across the organization and supported efforts to ensure coherence in this area," the WTO said.
Members expressed interest in "continuing structured exchanges" both in the run-up to and beyond MC14. The chair requested that the WTO Secretariat prepare a map of discussions related to technology transfer across WTO bodies at the group's next formal meeting in 2026.
