Senator Seeks Probe of Singapore Firm Accused of Violating Chip Controls
Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., urged the Commerce Department this week to investigate allegations that Singapore-based data center company Megaspeed helped Chinese firms evade U.S. export controls on sensitive Nvidia chips.

In a letter to Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick dated Oct. 13, Cotton said he’s “concerned about yet another case of diversion of American advanced chips to China through a network of shell companies and subsidiaries.” Cotton said that pervasive chip smuggling allows U.S. “adversaries access to advanced technology where the U.S. maintains significant leverage.”
Commerce has declined to comment on Megaspeed but is reportedly already investigating the company (see 2510100019).
