The list is to aid those filling out entry filers on shipments so that they can avoid writing vague noncompliant cargo descriptions. The list includes both unacceptable and acceptable cargo descriptions.

Those with questions about the list may send an email to OFO-ManifestBranch@cbp.dhs.gov, CBP said.

The agency said in April that it would be implementing cargo messaging to communicate with the entry filer on shipments that have vague noncompliant cargo descriptions (see 2404010025). The move toward better labeling is part of CBP's broader plans to improve how it monitors and tracks de minimis packages (see 2406070053).

Earlier this month, CBP said it implemented a nationwide rejection of vague descriptions in Air Cargo Advance Screening (see 2409060013).
