Trump Eyes 10%-20% Tariff on Countries That Take Advantage of US
Former President Donald Trump said Aug. 14 that he wants to impose a 10% to 20% tariff on “foreign countries that have been ripping us off for years,” making what seems to be a slight change to the 10% tariff on all U.S. imports that he proposed last year (see 2308290005).

The 2024 Republican presidential candidate, who spoke at a campaign rally in Asheville, North Carolina, also said he plans to “bring back our supply chains” from China and other countries to reduce costly supply chain disruptions faced by American companies and revive U.S. manufacturing. “American workers will make our critical goods better and cheaper,” he said. “We’re going to make them in our country.”
