ACE will deploy an update to Cargo Release ET86 processing to enforce the estimated date of arrival requirement, CBP said.

"For software developers, ET86 submissions must include the Reference Identifier Qualifier code 'EDA' in the SE20 record. The value of the Reference Identifier must be the estimated date of arrival, reported as MMDDYY," CBP said. "Failure to provide this information will result in the entry rejecting with error 282 (EDA REQUIRED FOR ENTRY TYPE 86) or 288 (ONLY ONE SE20 FOR EDA ALLOWED)."

This change, which was made available in the ACE certification environment last July 11 (see 2407110016), will support the automated enforcement of Section 321 requirements, CBP said.

The agency also said there will be a later development that will activate a validation in ACE to ensure that an appropriate party does not receive Section 321 clearance for more than an aggregate of $800 in shipments on a given day.

There will be two support calls related to the deployment: the ACEbiweekly trade support call, July 18 at 2 p.m. EDT, and the post-deployment support call, July 30 at 1 p.m. EDT. For more information, email ecommerce@cbp.dhs.gov.
