OFAC Sanctions Companies, Executive for Helping Iran's Drone Program

The Office of Foreign Assets Control last week sanctioned four Iranian entities and an Iranian aviation industry executive for their ties to the country’s unmanned aerial vehicle program, which has made drones for Russia’s war against Ukraine.

The designations target Rayan Fan Kav Andish Co., Kish Mechatronics Co., Fanavarihaye Hava Pishran Sazeh Sepehr Co LLC and Mersad Mohajer Co. LLC, which have helped supply U.S. dual-use electronics to Iran or helped the country evade sanctions. OFAC also sanctioned Afshin Khajeh Fard, chief of the Iran Aviation Industries Organization, who oversees IAIO’s “efforts to produce UAVs and missiles.”
