Wu’s March 2023 class action alleged that the company inundates thousands of consumers with artificial or prerecorded voice messages promoting its services, and that it does so without obtaining their prior express written consent. The case gained some brief notoriety last spring when the defendant’s motion to dismiss called the TCPA “the poster child for lawsuit abuse” (see 2305010009).
