FMC Hires New Agency Secretary

The Federal Maritime Commission hired David Eng as the agency's new secretary. Eng, who most recently worked as a branch chief at the Departmental Appeals Board of the Department of Health and Human Services, will process Shipping Act complaints and communications submitted to the FMC, maintain records of meetings, and conduct other clerical activities on behalf of the commission.

"I am confident Mr. Eng will contribute significantly to making the Office of the Secretary responsive to the public and effective for the Commission,” Chairman Daniel Maffei said in a Jan. 2 news release.

An FMC spokesperson said in an email that Eng replaced William Cody, the previous permanent FMC secretary. Cody left in October to join the Energy Department, according to his LinkedIn page.
