BIS recently suspended the export privileges of four inmates at a Texas federal prison for 10 years from their dates of conviction for their illegal firearms exports to Mexico.

Angel Huerta-Garay was convicted April 26, 2022, and sentenced to 52 months in prison, three years of supervised release and a $100 special assessment. Edson Daniel Montelongo was convicted July 22, 2022, and sentenced to 70 months in prison, three years of supervised release and a $500 special assessment. Javier Alonso Galvan-Hernandez was convicted May 11, 2022, and sentenced to 84 months in prison, three years of supervised release and a $200 “special assessment.” Jose Luis Garcia was convicted Dec. 14, 2021, and sentenced to 57 months in prison, three years of supervised release, a $20,000 criminal fine and a $100 assessment.
