ITC Begins Section 337 Investigation on Imported Commercial Ice Makers

The International Trade Commission began a Section 337 investigation on imported ice machines for commercial uses (ITC Inv. No. 337-TA-1369), it said in a notice.

The investigation follows the commission's consideration of a July 12 complaint by Georgia-based Hoshizaki America, a commercial kitchen appliance maker. The complaint alleges Korean manufacturer Bluenix and California-based importer Blue Air entered ice makers into the U.S. that infringe on three of Hoshizaki's patents for ice cube evaporators and plate assemblies. Hoshizaki asked the ITC for a permanent limited exclusion order and permanent cease and desist orders.
