the Voluntary Qualified Importer Program for the FY 2023 program period (i.e., Oct. 1, 2022, through Sept. 30, 2023). FDA said the application period is currently open until May 31, 2023, for participation in the FY 2024 benefit period that begins Oct. 1, 2023. Benefits for VQIP participants include “expedited review and importation of human and animal foods into the United States,” FDA said.
