Non-EU Countries Align With 5 Recent EU Sanctions Moves
The European Council announced that non-EU European nations aligned with five different sanctions decisions. Concerning the Nov. 14 move to amend the list of individuals and entities subject to sanctions on Iran, the countries of North Macedonia, Montenegro, Albania, Ukraine, Moldova, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway also imposed the decision, the council said.

The countries of North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Albania, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Iceland and Liechtenstein imposed the EU's decision to renew the sanctions on Venezuela for another year, the council said. North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Albania, Ukraine, Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway aligned with the decision to add 19 individuals and one entity to the sanctions on Myanmar/Burma, the council said.
North Macedonia, Montenegro, Albania, Ukraine, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway aligned with the decision to add 10 individuals and one entity to the sanctions concerning the proliferation and use of chemical weapons. Also under the chemical weapons sanctions regimes, the countries of North Macedonia, Montenegro, Albania, Ukraine, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway aligned with the decision to renew the restrictions until Oct. 16, 2023, the council said.
