Sartorius Lodges Section 337 Complaint at ITC Over Imported Diagnostic Equipment
Public interest comments are due to the International Trade Commission by Nov. 9 in a case concerning bio-layer interferometers, according to a Federal Register notice (ITC Docket No. 3652).

The notice follows an Oct. 25 complaint by Sartorius Bioanalytical Instruments, Inc., a New York-based subsidiary of the German company Sartorius AG. The complaint alleges that Gator Bio Inc., of California, is importing diagnostic equipment -- specifically bio-layer interferometry label-free detection systems for biomolecular interactions analysis -- that infringe on four of Sartorius' patents covering diagnostic sampling technology. Sartorius has asked the ITC for a permanent limited exclusion order and a cease-and-desist order.
