ITC Seeks Public Comment Following Pool Cleaner Patent Complaint

Comments are due Aug. 12 to the International Trade Commission on public interest issues raised on a July 29 complaint by Zodiac Pool Systems and Zodiac Pool Care Europe concerning pool cleaners (ITC Docket No. 337-TA-3631).

Zodiac alleges that Wybotics, Tianjin Pool & Spa and Aiper are importing products that infringe on two of Zodiac's patents. The patents cover a wheel-driven brush pool cleaner and a dual-shell type filter cleaner, which Zodiac says allows operators to empty the filter without getting dirty. Zodiac has asked the ITC to institute a limited exclusion order and cease and desist orders against the respondents.
