The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative said that the United Autoworkers and Miners Union submitted a complaint on May 5 that the plant, which employs nearly 1,500 people, has fired and blocked workers from joining the Miners Union in Mexico. The interagency committee that evaluates complaints "determined there was sufficient credible evidence of the allegations that Teksid Hierro workers were being denied unionization rights," the press release said.

All the labor complaints under the mechanism that have been resolved so far haven't resulted in tariffs, but CBP will suspend liquidation for imports from Teksid Hierro until a resolution is reached.
