This is not making me feel safe!” A spokesperson for D.C. Council Chairman Phil Mendelson (D) referred us to Public Safety Chair Charles Allen (D), “as he has direct oversight of OUC and whether or not the nomination has a hearing and is ultimately voted upon by the Council.” Allen didn’t comment by our deadline.
