Argentina, Peru Issue AD Duty Decisions on China Products

Argentina and Peru recently made antidumping duty decisions on products from China, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council reported Sept. 24.

  • Argentina initiated an antidumping duty investigation on certain Chinese “metal protection grilles ... of the kind used in fans with a built‑in electric motor,” and renewed its antidumping duty (US$4.67/kg) on certain Chinese “carbon steel butt‑welded pipe fittings, specifically elbows and tees.”
  • Peru announced the expiration, effective Sept. 23, of the provisional antidumping duty rate it had established in its ongoing AD investigation into certain Chinese “plain weave polyester and cotton fabrics.” The duty rate had been $2.08/kg. Peru’s final AD duty determination in this investigation hasn’t yet been issued, HKTDC said.
