Ways and Means Trade Staffer to Be a WTO Deputy Director-General
Angela Ellard, chief Republican trade counsel on the House Ways and Means Committee, will be one of the four deputy directors-general at the World Trade Organization, Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala announced May 4. Ellard has served on the committee staff since 1995.

Peterson Institute for International Economics Senior Fellow Anabel González, a former trade minister in Costa Rica and World Bank official; Ambassador Jean-Marie Paugam of France; and Ambassador Xiangchen Zhang of China also were chosen as deputy directors-general.
