  • Trade in goods by exporter characteristics for November 2020. The number of Canadian businesses exporting goods grew by 0.4% in November to reach 19,399, the highest level since February 2020, Statistics Canada said. Canada still had nearly 1,000 fewer exporting enterprises (-4.8%) than were recorded in February, just before the COVID-19 pandemic was declared.
  • CITT issues determination of reasonable indication of injury regarding concrete reinforcing bar. The Canadian International Trade Tribunal determined there is a reasonable indication the dumping of concrete reinforcing bar originating in or exported from Oman and Russia has caused injury or retardation, or is threatening to cause injury, to the domestic industry. Its inquiry was the result of a dumping investigation initiated by the Canada Border Services Agency. CBSA will continue its investigation and issue a preliminary determination by March 4.
  • CUSMA textile/apparel TPL utilization. The Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade updated the 2021 Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement textile and apparel tariff preference level utilization rate for imports and exports. CUSMA is known as USMCA in the U.S.
  • Product Recalls: Noble House chests, cabinets and dressers manufactured in China and Vietnam recalled, for tip-over hazard; Junction Tall Chest and Junction Low Dressers manufactured in India recalled, for tip-over and entrapment hazards; sleep sacks in Size 0-6 Months (First Wish, Sam & Jo, Dylan and Abby, Miss Mona Mouse, Harry & Me, and Aspen) manufactured in India and China recalled, for suffocation hazard.
