  • Importation/exportation of human remains and other human tissues. The Canada Border Services Agency on Jan. 8 issued revisions and updates to Memorandum D19-9-3 issued Jan. 16, 2009, which outlines the conditions under which cadavers, other human remains, organs and tissues may be imported into or exported from Canada.
  • Statement of Reasons in expiry review determination for imported potatoes from U.S. The Canada Border Services Agency on Jan. 8 issued a statement of reasons regarding the dumping of certain whole potatoes originating in or exported from the U.S., for use or consumption in British Columbia. On Dec. 24, the CBSA determined that the expiration of the order made by the Canadian International Trade Tribunal on Sept. 9, 2015, in Inquiry No. RR‑2014‑004, would likely result in the continuation or resumption of dumping of the subject goods, for use or consumption in the B.C. province. The period of review for this investigation is Aug. 1, 2016, to June 30, 2020.
  • Product Recalls: Su-VGun and GrillGun Propane Torch Guns manufactured in China recalled, for fire hazard; Delta 9 Bio-Tech Inc. recalls one lot of Oceanic Sea Breeze dried cannabis manufactured in Canada and sold in Newfoundland and Labrador, for labels listing incorrect cannabinoid values; Agro-Greens Natural Products Ltd. recalls one lot of North 40 Black Cherry Punch dried cannabis manufactured in Canada and sold in Saskatchewan, for possible mold contamination, posing a health hazard.
