- CBSA issues statement of reasons in certain concrete reinforcing bar dumping investigation. The Canada Border Services Agency on Oct. 7 issued a statement of reasons concerning the Sept. 22 initiation of an investigation with respect to the dumping of certain concrete reinforcing bar originating in or exported from Algeria, Egypt, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam. On Aug. 4, CBSA received a written complaint from AltaSteel Inc., ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada, G.P., and Gerdau Ameristeel Corporation alleging that imports of certain concrete reinforcing bar, known as rebar, originating in or exported from the named countries have been dumped, have caused injury and are threatening to cause injury to Canadian producers of rebar.
