Canadian Government Notices as of Sept. 23
The Canada government issued the following trade-related notices as of Sept. 23 (some may also be given separate headlines):

- Export reporting -- amending or voiding export declarations. The Canada Border Services Agency's Sept. 21 Customs Notice 20-30 advises that the Canadian Automated Export Declaration system will remain a reporting option until it is decommissioned on Sept. 30, 2020. As of June 30, 2020, Export Declaration form B13A is no longer accepted, as CBSA eliminated it, and electronic File Transfer (eFT) used to submit Summary Reports to Statistics Canada is no longer available. The Canadian Export Reporting System (CERS) Portal must now be used for submitting all export declarations and Summary Reporting Program (SRP) monthly reports. The notice outlines the obligations and processes to amend and void previously submitted export declarations in the event that an exporter, customs services provider or SRP participant is required to modify an export declaration that had used one of the eliminated methods.
- CBSA issues notice of investigation for certain concrete reinforcing bar. The Canada Border Services Agency initiated an investigation Sept. 22 under the Special Imports Measures Act with respect to the alleged injurious dumping of certain concrete reinforcing bar from Algeria, Egypt, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam. AltaSteel Inc., ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada, G.P., and Gerdau Ameristeel Corporation requested the investigation. A Statement of Reasons will be available by Oct. 7.
