- CFIA suspends Safe Food for Canadians license for Cami International Poultry Limited. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency suspended the Safe Food for Canadians license for Cami International Poultry Limited, effective Oct. 4, because the company failed to comply with humane treatment provisions related to the slaughter of poultry under Part 6 of the SFCR. The agency has advised there is no recall associated with the suspension. Cami is located in Welland, Ontario.
- NAFTA textile/apparel TPL utilization. Global affairs updated the 2019 NAFTA textile and apparel tariff preference level utilization rate for imports and exports.
- WTO Yogurt. Quantities available for reallocation as of Oct. 10, 2019.
- Special Import Measures Act. Certain sucker rods -- Decision by the Canada Border Services Agency, after initiation on Sept. 30, 2019, pursuant to subsection 31(1) of the Special Import Measures Act (SIMA) of an investigation into the alleged injurious dumping of certain sucker rods from Argentina, Brazil and Mexico. The Canadian International Trade Tribunal will conduct a preliminary inquiry into the question of injury to the Canadian industry.
- Product Recall: Carrier and Bryant branded 1.5-ton multi-zone, 4-ton multi-zone and 4-ton single zone ductless heat pump outdoor unit manufactured in China recalled, for fire hazard.
