The government of Canada issued the following trade-related notices as of Aug. 28 (note that some may also be given separate headlines):

Timely, relevant coverage of court proceedings and agency rulings involving tariffs, classification, valuation, origin and antidumping and countervailing duties.   • Canada-Israel Free Trade Agreement Implementation Act. The Canada Border Services Agency issued customs notices 19-18 and 19-19 on the changes that take effect Sept. 1 (here) and (here).
  • Safeguard Measures. The CBSA updated customs notice 19-08 on the final safeguard measures imposed on steel goods (here).
  • National Customs Rulings. The CBSA has issued memorandum D11-11-1, which has been revised to include new procedures for the processing of National Customs Ruling requests by email between the applicant or their agent and the CBSA, a new policy for the retention and disposal period for ruling requests, as well as an update on situations in which an NCR will not be issued and the request rejected (here).
  • NAFTA textile/apparel TPL utilization. Global Affairs Canada updated the 2019 NAFTA textile and apparel tariff preference level utilization rate for imports (here) and exports (here).
  • Product Recalls. Contigo Kids Cleanable Water Bottles manufactured in Hong Kong recalled due to Choking Hazard (here), Micro-USB Charging Cables Packaged with Happy Plugs Bluetooth Wireless II Headphones manufactured in China recalled due to burn hazard (here).
