  • Agricultural mission to China wraps up with deals secured. Minister of Agriculture Lawrence MacAulay announced Nov. 15 that a 10-day visit to China by the Canadian delegation resulted in Canada and China signing 18 agriculture and agri-food agreements worth more than $353 million. These agreements contributed to the $1.67 billion in deals struck by all Canadian companies over the 10-day period (see 1811140001).
  • Liquid dielectric transformers: Initiation of normal value and export price review. The Canada Border Services Agency on Nov. 15 initiated a normal value and export price review to update the normal values and export prices of certain liquid dielectric transformers having a top power handling capacity equal to or exceeding 60,000 kilovolt amperes (60 megavolt amperes), exported from South Korea to Canada by Hyundai Electric & Energy Systems Co., Ltd. (Hyundai Energy). The review is in accordance with the Canadian International Trade Tribunal's Expiry Review order made on May 31, 2018, with respect to the dumping of transformers from South Korea.
  • CBSA statement of reasons on cold-rolled steel. The Canada Border Services Agency on Nov. 15 issued its statement of reasons concerning the Oct. 31 final determinations of dumping and subsidizing of cold-rolled steel from China, South Korea and Vietnam.
  • Product Recalls: Vankak Limited recalls various cosmetic products in pressurized containers manufactured in various countries and imported from the United States, for lacking mandatory hazard labeling; LILLEbaby recalls Active series baby carriers manufactured in China, for fall hazard; Bouclair Inc. recalls fabric and rubberwood barstools manufactured in China, for laceration hazard; MPS Canada Corporation recalls various cosmetic products in pressurized containers manufactured in various countries within the European Union, for lacking mandatory hazard labeling; Waupaca Elevator Company recalls certain Custom Lift Residential Elevators manufactured in the United States, for injury hazard.
