Canadian Government Notices as of Nov. 2
The government of Canada recently issued the following trade-related notices as of Nov. 2 (some may also be given separate headlines):

- Initiation of expiry review investigation for certain thermoelectric containers. On Oct. 30, 2018, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal initiated an expiry review of its order made on Dec. 9, 2013, concerning the dumping and subsidizing of certain thermoelectric containers that provide cooling and/or warming with the use of a passive heat sink and a thermoelectric module, excluding liquid dispensers, originating in or exported from China. As a result of CITT’s expiry review, the Canada Border Services Agency on Oct. 31 initiated an expiry review investigation to determine whether expiration of the order is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping and/or subsidizing of certain thermoelectric containers originating in or exported from China. CBSA will make a determination no later than March 29, 2019, and will issue a Statement of Reasons by April 12, 2019.
- CBSA issues final determinations of dumping of cold-rolled steel. The Canada Border Services Agency on Oct. 31 issued its final determinations of dumping and subsidizing with respect to certain cold-rolled steel in coils or cut lengths from China, South Korea and Vietnam. Its Statement of Reasons will be released within 15 days. The Canadian International Trade Tribunal is continuing its inquiry into the question of injury to the domestic industry and will make an order or finding by Dec. 21, 2018.
- Product Recalls: Stanley Black & Decker Canada Corp. recalls certain Porter-Cable and Black & Decker hammer drills manufactured in China, for injury hazard.
