BIS Seeks Comments on Export Licensing for Ag Sales to Cuba

The Bureau of Industry and Security is requesting public comments on the effectiveness of its licensing procedures for agricultural exports to Cuba, the agency said in a notice to be published in the Sept. 17 Federal Register. Comments are due Oct. 17. The agency will include the views of exporters in a report that also discloses the number of licenses approved, and for what purposes, and how long it takes to receive a license, and how many were applied for. BIS is currently preparing a biennial report on the operation of the
licensing system for the two-year period from Oct. 1, 2016, through Sept. 30, 2018.
