- U.S. decision to rescind duties on imports of Canadian supercalendered paper. Canada welcomes the decision by the United States to rescind its duties on imports of Canadian supercalendered paper and to refund all duties collected since August 2015, a July 10 official statement said.
- Allocation and administration of TRQs under CPTPP. The Canadian government under the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) will grant new access to imports for various goods in the dairy, poultry and egg sectors, administered by the creation of 20 new tariff rate quotas (TRQs). The new TRQs will be implemented and administered by Global Affairs Canada under the Export and Import Permits Act. Comments are sought from stakeholders by 11:59 p.m. Pacific time on Aug. 31.
- Product Recalls: Ortovox Canada recalls Ortovox 3+ Avalanche Transceivers manufactured in Germany, for disruptions that can impact rescue processes.
