- Changes to CBSA’s AD/CV program. In regards to recent amendments to the Special Import Measures Act and the Special Import Measures Regulations that entered into force on April 26, the Canada Border Services Agency will conduct scope proceedings and anti-circumvention investigations, assess whether certain sales should be disregarded due to a particular market situation, and provide unions with participatory rights in dumping and subsidy investigations.
- Creative industry trade mission to China nets deal. Minister of Canadian Heritage Mélanie Joly, along with 60 representatives from Canadian companies, participated in a five-day trade mission to China seeking to open new markets for Canadian artists, creators and creative entrepreneurs. The purpose of the mission was to help export-ready Canadian small and medium-sized enterprises enter the Chinese market for music, film, television, visual effects, animation, gaming, museums, publishing and performing arts, giving them opportunities to explore an array of trade and investment possibilities. Commercial agreements worth nearly $125 million were signed.
