- CITT finds dumping certain PET resin from four countries not injuring economy. The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) announced its March 16 finding that the dumping and subsidizing of certain polyethylene terephthalate resin (PET resin) from China, India, Oman and Pakistan have not caused and are not threatening to cause injury to the domestic industry.
- CFIA issues compliance guidelines for U.S. exports of food under FSVP. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a guidance document on how Canadian food businesses exporting to the United States can meet the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's (FDA's) Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) rules.
- CFIA suspends registration of Point Queen Fisheries Ltd. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has suspended the registration of Point Queen Fisheries Ltd. of New Brunswick, effective March 20, for not reliably implementing adequate controls for food safety in the facility on a consistent basis, which is a violation of the Fish Inspection Regulations.
