  • Port modernization review. Minister of Transport Marc Garneau March 12 announced a review by Transport Canada of Canada Port Authorities with the goal of optimizing their role in the country's transportation system. The findings of the review, expected in 2019, will identify potential policy, legislative and regulatory changes to help Canada Port Authorities to consolidate their position as key players in the Canadian economy.
  • CITT finds no injury for polyethylene terephthalate resin from China, India, Oman and Pakistan. The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) on March 16 found that the dumping and subsidizing of polyethylene terephthalate resin originating in or exported from China and India, and the dumping of polyethylene terephthalate resin originating in or exported from Oman and Pakistan, have not caused and are not threatening to cause injury to the domestic industry. A statement of reasons is due April 3.
  • Certain hot-rolled carbon steel plate. The Canada Border Services Agency on March 16 issued a statement of reasons for its March 2 determination that the expiry of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal’s order made on January 8, 2013, in Expiry Review No. RR 2012 001, is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping of certain hot-rolled carbon steel plate and high strength low alloy plate, originating in or exported from China.
