  • Canada’s deficit on trade in goods narrows. Statistics Canada reports that Canada’s deficit on international trade in goods narrowed by $1.9 billion to $7.2 billion in the fourth quarter, following three consecutive increases.
  • Statement of reasons: Certain polyethylene terephthalate resin. The Canada Border Services Agency on March 1 issued a statement of reasons concerning the termination of the subsidy investigation with respect to certain polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resin exported from Oman by OCTAL SAOC FZC, and exported from Pakistan by Novatex Limited and originating in or exported from Pakistan by all other exporters, and the final determination with respect to the dumping of PET resin originating in or exported from China, India, Oman and Pakistan, and the final determination with respect to subsidizing of PET resin originating in or exported from China and India.
  • Product Recalls: Goodman Manufacturing Company L.P. recalls certain unbranded and Goodman, Amana and Daikin brand modular blowers manufactured in the United States, for fire hazard; Goodman Manufacturing Company L.P. recalls Amana brand packaged terminal air conditioner/heat pump units manufactured in the United States, for fire and burn hazards; Graco Children’s Products Inc. recalls Graco Table2Table 6-in-1 Highchairs manufactured in China, for fall hazard; Lemur Group Inc. recalls PL children’s nightgown manufactured in China, for burn hazard posed by not meeting flammability standards.
