- Canada to begin free trade talks with Mercosur. Canadian Trade Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne reportedly will visit Paraguay March 9 for talks with the South American trading bloc Mercosur -- which also includes Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay -- the South Atlantic News Agency said earlier this month. The nations "have agreed on the strong potential to develop a more ambitious trade relationship by enhancing trade and investment flows through a comprehensive free trade agreement," Global Affairs Canada said.
- Certain carbon steel welded pipe expiry review schedule. The case briefs are due Feb. 26 from all parties arguing that continued or resumed dumping is likely or not likely for certain carbon steel welded pipe originating in exported from Taiwan, India, Oman, South Korea, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates, and the subsidizing of certain carbon steel welded pipe originating in or exported from India. The Canada Border Services Agency is scheduled to make a decision by May 7, with a Statement of Reasons issued by May 22.
