- Statement on U.S.’s final duty determinations on Bombardier C Series aircraft. Minister of Foreign Affairs Chrystia Freeland issued a statement on the U.S. Commerce Department’s final antidumping and countervailing duty determinations on Bombardier C Series aircraft: “The Government of Canada is deeply troubled by the protectionist nature of Boeing’s allegations, which seek to advance its market dominance by excluding Bombardier’s C Series aircraft from the U.S. market. It is beyond all reason that Boeing could be threatened with injury in a market segment it exited over a decade ago.”
- South Korea: Certain carbon and alloy steel line pipe. The Canada Border Services Agency on Dec. 20 issued a statement of reasons for its final determination of dumping with respect to certain carbon and alloy steel line pipe originating in or exported from the South Korea.
- Product Recalls: Midwest Design Imports Inc. recalls Touch of Nature feather boas manufactured in China, for fire and burn hazards; Brompton Bicycle Ltd recalls Brompton Bicycles with FAG bottom bracket cartridge BB66 manufactured in the UK,for fall and injury hazards; Rocky Mountain Bicycles recalls various mountain bicycles manufactured in Canada and Taiwan, for crash hazard; Drive Medical Canada recalls Michael Graves Solutions Therma Moist Heating Pads manufactured in Taiwan, for burn and fire hazards; Wohali Outdoors recalls Bass Pro Shops children’s sleepwear manufactured in China, for not meeting flammability standards; Plews & Edelmann recalls various chemical products manufactured in the U.S. and China, for improper hazard labeling.
