- Statement on U.S. preliminary subsidy determination on large civil aircraft from Canada. Minister of Foreign Affairs Chrystia Freeland issued a statement on the recent U.S. Department of Commerce preliminary subsidy determination on large civil aircraft from Canada, stating that Canada strongly disagrees with the anti-dumping and countervailing duty investigations into imports of Canadian large civil aircraft and indicating that Commerce's preliminary determinations "almost always rule in favour of the U.S. complainant."
- Roundtable discussion on NAFTA with agricultural stakeholders. Minister of Agriculture Lawrence MacAulay and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrew Leslie held a roundtable Sept. 25 with Canadian agricultural stakeholders to discuss how to maximize the benefits of a modernized North American Free Trade Agreement and to look at ways to make North America an even stronger agricultural market. Stakeholders included those representing a range of sectors from beef to dairy to grains.
