APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Aug. 3

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Aug. 3 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables and flowers.

Animal Product Manual: The following changes have been made to the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections:

Throughout the manual's reference sections (all chapters beginning with the number 3):

  • Footnote 10 was updated in Table 3-19-6
  • Footnote 7 was updated in Table 3-19-8
  • A reference to a footnote was removed in Table 3-19-9
  • Footnote 1 was updated in Table 3-19-32

Oncidium Facilities List: The new list of Approved Oncidium spp. Growing Media Facilities (here), 08/2016-01, authorized to export Oncidium spp. to the United States has been added to the lists of approved facilities under the Plants for Planting Manual on the Complete List of Electronic Manuals Website (here).
