APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for June 21

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes June 21 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Animal Product Manual: The following changes have been made to the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections:

Throughout the manual's reference sections (all chapters beginning with the number 3):

  • Cross reference to see Table 3-19-3 on page 3-19-6 was changed to see Table 3-19-2
  • New Serrano Ham facility was added to Figure 3-19-6 APHIS-Approved Spanish Serrano Ham Processing Plants

Other changes:

  • Appendix J Table J-1-8, line 3 was added: ENTER the name and address of the importer or shipper
  • Glossary definition for poultry was changed
