APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for May 16-17

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes May 16-17 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Animal Product Manual: The following changes have been made to the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections:

Chapter 2-3 Clearing Regulated Passenger Baggage

  • Page 2-3-11 under Refuse Entry heading - NEW bullet and NEW Notice table have been added

Glossary

  • Page Glossary-1-40 poultry definition - language has been revised

Fruits and Vegetables: The Fruits and Vegetables Manual (here) and the Fruits and Vegetables Import Requirements (FAVIR) database (here) have been updated to align with a finalized operational workplan and associated addenda for peppers from Peru. Import permits can now be issued. Changes in the manual are on page 3-253.
