APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for May 10

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes May 10 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Seeds Not for Planting: The Seeds Not for Planting Manual (here) has been updated, 05/2016-89. Revisions, indicated by a black change bar in the left margin of the revised page, are as follows:

  • Page 3-36: Changed the certification end date to May 31, 2017 for two USDA approved heat treatment facilities for Guizotia abyssinica (niger) seed

Approved Dracaena Facilities: The list of Approved Dracaena spp. Facilities authorized to export Dracaena spp. from Costa Rica to the continental United States (here) has been updated, 05/2016-31. Revisions, indicated by a black change bar in the left margin of each revised page, are as follows:

  • Page 3: Removed Plantas Paradox Verde S.A., Registry Number 1327, both locations
