Hartford Fire Insurance challenging CBP claims on bonds covering entries of garlic. Hartford says the bonds should be canceled because they contained errors. #16-00048. Filed March 22.
A&T Tobacco Imports on the valuation of its tobacco products. CBP appraised the merchandise using deductive value, resulting in artificially inflated values, and also included in the valuation merchandise not included in the entries, said A&T. The merchandise should have instead been appraised using transaction value, it said. #16-00049. Filed March 24.
The Kalencom Corporation on the classification of paper-covered presentation boxes. CBP classified the merchandise under subheading 4202.92.9060 (17.6%). Kalencom says it should have instead been classified under subheading 4202.99.10 (3.4%). #16-00050. Filed March 25.
Ganz petitioning CIT for an order allowing it to conduct an oral deposition of a CBP import specialist. CBP is currently attempting to collect from Ganz over $22 million in unpaid duties and penalties, alleging that Ganz through gross negligence failed to timely implement a CBP ruling, said Ganz.
