Gunther Mele Limited on the tariff classification of plastic jewelry boxes wholly covered in plastic-coated paper. CBP classified the boxes under HTS subheading 4202.92.90 (17.6%). Gunter Mele says it should have been classified under subheading 4202.99.10 (3.4%). #15-00314. Filed Dec. 2.

Sunpreme challenging CBP's suspension of liquidation and cash deposit requirements on its solar modules containing bi-facial thin film cells from China. Sunpreme says the merchandise is exempt from antidumping and countervailing duties. #15-00315. Filed Dec. 3.

New Image Global challenging CBP's calculation of the weight of its imported cigar wraps and the excise tax charged. #15-00316. Filed Dec. 4.

​Appeals of CIT Decisions

the following appeals of Court of International Trade decisions were filed at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit during the week of Nov. 30 - Dec. 6:

American Home Assurance Co. appealing an Oct. 28 CIT decision that held it liable for antidumping duties on an entry AHAC claimed had already deemed liquidated. CIT ruled that an injunction covering the entry dissolved upon entry of final judgment in the entire case, and not with the court decision that decided the issues specific to that particular entry (see 1510290023">1510290023).
