Hartford Fire Insurance challenging CBP claims on bonds covering entries of honey. Hartford says the bonds should be canceled because they contained errors, and that the statute of limitations has passed. #15-00266-67. Filed Sept. 21-22.

Zojirushi America Corp. seeking an order to compel CBP to rule on a protest it filed to make a post-liquidation claim for duty free access Generalized System of Preferences. The port marked the protest as "non-protestable" rather than allowing or denying the protest. #15-00268. Filed Sept. 25.

Jedwards International, Inc. on the classification of fish oil ethyl ester. CBP classified the merchandise under subheading 3824.90.4140 (4.6%). Jedwards says it should have instead been classified under subheading 1516.10.0000 (7¢/kg), 1517.90.9090 (8.8¢/kg) or 3003.90.0000 (free). #15-00269. Filed Sept. 25.

The following appeals of Court of International Trade decisions were filed at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit during the week of Sept. 21-17:

Schlumberger Technology Corp. challenging an Aug. 12 CIT decision finding bauxite pellets used as proppants in the hydraulic fracking industry are classifiable as bauxite ore, and not as ceramic wares articles (see 1508130049).
