Within two years, carriers have to be able to provide a location within 50 meters of a call for 40 percent of callers. Within six years, carriers are required to be able to meet the 50-meter requirement for 80 percent of all wireless calls. The notice says the Office of Management and Budget approved the information collection requirements of the rules July 20, allowing them to take effect.
